Hey, besties!

My name is Lily Freiberg, and welcome to the corresponding blog to my new podcast — Heart Of The Horseshoe!

I am so excited to share my horseback riding stories and dive deep into the sport.

This is not going to be a "How To" podcast. Although I might add in some tips and tricks to enhance your riding skills, I'll be doing it while focusing on a deeper concept.

For example, I might pass along the trick that my trainer taught me of massaging the reins while riding a horse that keeps moving out of your control. However, I'll go further into that trick by explaining the connection between the horse and its rider, and telling you guys about my personal experience with that topic.

I am at an intermediate level at my barn. This means that the skills I can accomplish align the best with the intermediate skills my trainers and barn manager have set up for their lesson program. I can walk and trot (while posting on the correct diagonal), and I am learning how to sit my canter better.

All this to say... I am, by no means, an advanced, expert or professional rider. I didn't really pick up horseback riding until November 2025, and I'm currently riding to have a fun hobby as an adult. At the moment, I am not looking to compete.

I feel like my background, as well as the fact that I am continuously learning in my riding lessons, will help me provide a unique perspective on riding as whole.

My goal with this podcast and blog is to bring the riding community together while welcoming newer members with open arms. I want to make this show inclusive from the advanced riders looking for something different to listen to, to the beginners who want to learn why people enjoy riding.

I am so excited to start my journey with each and every one of you, and I hope you're excited to dive deep into the whys of riding.

Episodes will be dropping every Monday unless noted otherwise.

In the meantime, as I record my first episode, I welcome you to connect with me:

See you on the trail!
