Hi! My name is Lily! I am 26 years old and took up horseback riding as a hobby to relieve stress, get some physical activity and make new friends. I used to ride at various camps throughout my childhood, however, I was always so busy with dance that I never fully committed to the sport. Now, I have fallen in love with riding and learning a new skill. I am a current intermediate rider at my barn, and I am hoping to become a trainer for incoming beginner students. I am also hoping to go back to school to become an Equine Veterinarian. When I'm not at the barn, you can catch me watching TV and having a glass of wine with my friends.

I decided to start this podcast because I believe I can offer some unique insight into horseback riding. I come from a dance background and took up the sport later in life. I am also continuously taking lessons to enrich my skillset. I want to be able to connect to each and every rider, and focus on the why of it all. Whether you're a beginner rider, just getting into the sport, or an advanced rider who has been competing for years, we can all dive deep and discover the reasons why we love riding.

This won't be your "here's how to do this" instructional podcast. Rather, this will enhance your riding experience as we talk about how horses can be healing, how our behavior affects our horse's behavior and what we can do to bond with our horse in and out of the saddle. We will truly be getting into the "heart" of the horseshoe — pun intended.

I am so excited to start this journey with you all. All I ask in return is to be nice and considerate to anyone and everyone. I am aware I don't know everything about riding and I am still learning some of the basics before I advance into my goal of jumping. I will try to keep my hints and tips to what I know. But remember that it takes two to tango. I will make sure to keep my ego in check, so do the same for yourselves. Spread positivity and help better the riding community!
